Aggie Women Back In The Top 10 In The National Polls
Dec 18- The Texas A&M women’s basketball team (9-1) returned to the top 10 in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY/ESPN Coaches Top 25 Polls. The Aggie women moved up in the rankings after claiming a 62-60 victory over No. 14 and previously unbeaten Auburn on Dec. 15. A&M climbed two spots to No. 10 in the latest AP Poll released on Monday and one spot to No. 10 in the Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.

Plowboys Take Game One of Fall World Series
Oct 12- The Plowboys scored seven runs in the first four innings and held on for an 8-7 victory over the Roughnecks Friday night in an entertaining first game of the Texas A&M Baseball Fall World Series at Olsen Field. The Plowboys will look to clinch their second straight series title on Saturday morning. First pitch of game two is set for 11 a.m. and admission is free. “This was a great way to start off the Fall World Series,” head coach Rob Childress said.

Aggies Ranked No. 22 in Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll
Dec 22- Defending Big 12 champion Texas A&M earned a No. 22 ranking in Collegiate Baseball newspaper’s Fabulous 40 pre-season NCAA Division I poll, the publication released Friday. The Aggies, who finished the 2007 season ranked No. 14 by Collegiate Baseball, are boasting their highest preseason ranking since 2005. Arizona was rated No. 1, followed by South Carolina, Arizona State, Ole Miss and North Carolina, with Rice, San Diego, Texas, Wichita State and Michigan rounding out the top 10.

Texas A&M 62, Auburn 60
Dec 15- Junior Takia Starks (Houston, Texas) scored 17 points and junior Danielle Gant (Oklahoma City, Okla.) added 16 as the 11th-ranked Texas A&M women’s basketball team handed No. 14 Auburn its first loss of the season, 62-60, Saturday night before a season-best crowd of 3,663 fans at Reed Arena. The Aggies posted their school-record 23rd consecutive home victory to improve to 9-1 on the season, while the Tigers fell to 9-1.

Texas A&M 73, New Orleans 44
Dec 9- Junior Danielle Gant (Oklahoma City, Okla.) scored a career-high 28 points to lead the 11th-ranked Texas A&M women’s basketball team to a 29-point rout of New Orleans, 73-44, Sunday night at Reed Arena. Gant shot 10-of-12 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line to extend the Aggies’ win streak to a school-best 22 consecutive home games and fifth-straight of the season.

Jones and Franklin Named Top 30 Candidates For Senior CLASS Award
Dec 4- Texas A&M’s Joseph Jones (Normangee, Texas) and A’Quonesia Franklin (Tyler, Texas) are among the nation’s top 30 senior male and female college basketball players in contention for the 2007-08 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. A&M was one of four schools to place both a male and female student-athlete on the roster of candidates along with Tennessee, Ball State and the U.S. Military Academy.

A&M’s Wallace Named Finalist for Rimington Trophy
Nov 28- Texas A&M offensive center Cody Wallace was named one of five finalists for the Rimington Trophy, which is given annually to the outstanding center in college football, the Boomer Esiason Foundation announced on Wednesday. Joining Wallace as finalists for the prestigious award are Steve Justice (Wake Forest), Kory Lichtensteiger (Bowling Green), Jonathan Luigs (Arkansas), Alex Mack (California) and Adam Spieker (Missouri).

Baseball Season Tickets Now Available
Dec 3- Season tickets for the 2008 Texas A&M baseball season are now on sale through the Athletic Ticket Office, the school announced Monday. Tickets are $350 and are available online at 12thmanfoundation.com, by phone at 1-888-99-AGGIE or in person at the Athletic Ticket Center in the north end of Kyle Field. Current season ticket holders may also renew their seats through the same methods. "We truly do appreciate the fans' support," A&M coach Rob Childress said.
